COMPOSITION  

Each ampoule contains:
17-µ hydroxyprogesterone caproate 250 mg / 500 mg

 
 

The progesterone in NT-NATAL injection is identical to natural progesterone. The treatment with NT-NATAL involves giving exogenous progesterone to make up for deficient levels of progesterone to maintain the pregnancy.

Thus, NT-NATAL can be given to provide ante-natal care in ante-natal threats like habitual abortion and threatened abortion. It is also indicated in luteal phase defect and other condition in which exogenous progesterone helps.

DOSAGE

HABITUAL ABORTION: 250/500 MG i.m. as soon as pregnancy is confirmed at weekly intervals. Should be continued at least for a month beyond the critical period (the time when previous abortions occurred).

THREATENED ABORTION: 500 mg i.m. 2-3 times weekly until the bleeding ceases followed by 250 mg twice weekly until the patient becomes free from bleeding despite mobilization.

LUTEAL PHASE DEFECT: 250/500 mg i.m. to be given at weekly intervals till 12th week of pragnancy.
