Induced Abortion
The medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) due to complications or if
unwanted.
Spontaneous
Abortion
The natural termination of pregnancy prior to the 20th week of gestation
or with fetal weight less than 500 gm. |

| CLINICAL
CLASSIFICATION

Habitual
Abortion: The usual criterion is three or more consecutive
abortions.

Threatened
Abortion: Uterine bleeding in early pregnancy, with or without
cramping.

Inevitable
Abortion: Symptoms of threatened abortion plus the physical finding
of dilatation of the internal oss of the cervix as in actual labour.

Incomplete
Abortion: Passage of a portion of the products of conception from
the uterus.

Complete
Abortion: Passage (grossly) of all of the products of conception
from the uterus.

Missed
Abortion: Retention of the conceptus in the uterus for a clinically
appreciable time after death of the embryo or fetus.

INFERTILITY
The inability to conceive following 12 months
of regular coitus without contraception. |

| Primary
infertility
Conception has never taken place. |

|
| Secondary
infertility
At least one previous conception has been documented. |

| Sterility
The etiology of infertility is established and there is no possibility
for conception. |

| Female
Infertility
Due to Anovulation : Also known as ovulatory failure & is the most
common problem in females of child bearing age. The
condition is associated with the failure of ovulation. |

Infertility
Due to Azoospermia: Absence of sperms in semen. |

to Oligospermia
Deficiency in number of Spermatozoa in semen (<60 million/ml). |

to Asthenezoospermia
Low motility of sperms in semen. |

| THE
TREATMENT
Treatment Of Abortion: Adequate supply of progesterone to maintain the
pregnancy deficiency
is the cause.
Treatment Of Anovulation: Induction of LH surge.
Treatment Of Oligospermia: Hypothalamus stimulation helps to release FSH
& LH which further helps in spermatogenesis.
