Amoxycillin inhibits the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall.
Thus the multiplying cells can not make their normal cell wall and they
ultimately die. |

|
Cloxacillin - It has an isoxazolyl side chain that protect the
b-lactam ring from attack by penicillinase and is highly penicillinase
as well as acid resistant. It does not get inactivated by the bacterial
enzymes. |
||
|
Lactic Acid bacillus spores - Lactobacilli or Lactic acid bacillus
are friendly bacteria which form the lining of intestinal mucosa. These
friendly bacteria are generally killed by antibiotics leading to diarrhoea
& gastric upsets. Thus, supplementation of Lactobacilli spores with
antibiotics prevents diarrhoea & gastric upsets. |

| INDICATIONS | ||
|
Respiratory Tract Infections Tonsillar abscess, otitis media, suppurative sinus infection, acute chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, bronchopneumonia, pleurisy, empyema, lung abscess, emphysema, bronchiolitis. Urinary Tract Infections Acute and chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis, urethritis. Skin & Soft Tissue Infections Recurrent boils, carbuncles, impetigo, cellulitis and other infected dermatoses. Bone Infections Osteomyelitis and septic arthritis Serious Infections Septicemia, bacterial endocarditis, brain abscess and bacterial meningitis |

DOSAGE
& ADMINISTRATION The dosage differs depending on the type, site and severity of infections. It is usually given as one capsules three to four times daily. In impaired renal function the dosage should be modified in patients with severe renal impairment, by increasing the intervals between doses. With a creatinine clearance between 10 and 50 ml/min the dosing interval can be up to 12 hours. If the clearance is less than 10 ml/min the interval can be 16 hours. |

History of allergic reaction to any of the penicillins. |
